Description of the vulnerability

The OpenSSL library works on large numbers to perform operations such are RSA.

The BN_bn2dec() function converts a large number to its decimal representation. However, a special number forces BN_div_word() to return a limit value, then data are written after the end of the memory area.

An attacker can therefore generate a memory corruption via BN_bn2dec() of OpenSSL, in order to trigger a denial of service, and possibly to run code.

Description of the vulnerability

The OpenSSL library implements DTLS (Datagram Transport Layer Security, for example on UDP).

In order to manage replays, OpenSSL uses a sliding window containing accepted sequence numbers. However, if an attacker sends a packet with a large sequence number, the window is moved, and legitimate packets thus have numbers before the beginning of the window, and are rejected.

An attacker can therefore send a DTLS packet with a large sequence number to an application compiled with OpenSSL, in order to trigger a denial of service.

Description of the vulnerability

The OpenSSL library implements DTLS (Datagram Transport Layer Security, for example on UDP).

DTLS packets can be in the wrong order. OpenSSL has to keep them in memory, in order to reassemble them. However, in two cases, message queues are not cleared.

An attacker can therefore send DTLS packets in the wrong order with missing packets to an application compiled with OpenSSL, in order to trigger a denial of service.

Description of the vulnerability

The OpenSSL product implements the RFC 3161 Public Key Infrastructure Time-Stamp Protocol.

However, the TS_OBJ_print_bio() function tries to read a memory area located outside the expected range, which triggers a fatal error, or leads to the disclosure of a memory fragment.

An attacker can therefore force a read at an invalid address via TS_OBJ_print_bio() of OpenSSL, in order to trigger a denial of service, or to obtain sensitive information.

Description of the vulnerability

Most web servers support CGI scripts (PHP, Python, etc.).

According to the RFC 3875, when a web server receives a Proxy header, it has to create the HTTP_PROXY environment variable for CGI scripts.

However, this variable is also used to store the name of the proxy that web clients has to use. The PHP (via Guzzle, Artax, etc.) and Python scripts will thus use the proxy indicated in the web query for all client queries they will send during the CGI session.

An attacker can therefore send a query with a malicious Proxy header to a web service hosting a CGI script creating web client queries, so they go through attacker's proxy.

Description of the vulnerability

The Linux kernel implements the RFC 5961 (Improving TCP's Robustness to Blind In-Window Attacks).

However, this implementation provides information which can be used to inject a TCP packet in an active session, but without receiving the TCP reply.

In order to do so, the attacker has to know,
 - the IP address and the TCP port number of the server
 - the IP address of a client with an active session

An attacker can therefore predict the sequence of a TCP session performed to a Linux server, in order to inject a TCP packet, which can interact with the session if it is not encrypted.

Description of the vulnerability

The Linux kernel includes a device driver "hiddev" which manages the commands named HIDIOCGUSAGES and HIDIOCSUSAGES.

When a userspace program call ioctl with one of these commands, the array uref_multi->values is filled in from the array field->value. However, some bound checks are missing and the caller can make the loop continue writing after the buffer.

An attacker can therefore generate a buffer overflow via the device driver hiddev from the Linux kernel, in order to trigger a denial of service, and possibly to run code.
