Description of the vulnerability

Three new vulnerabilities were announced in PHP.

Phpinfo() function displays information about PHP state, and is not generally used on a production server. This function is not correctly protected against a Cross Site Scripting attack.

In some cases of parse_str() usage, when "memory_limit" is reached, register_globals directive is enabled.

When register_globals is enabled, a file upload permits to change contents of global variables defined in $GLOBALS. Attacker uses a POST of type multipart/form-data whose fileupload field is GLOBAL.

These vulnerabilities therefore permit an attacker to conduct a Cross Site Scripting attack, or to alter script execution.
